Smooth & Simple: What You Can Expect When We Visit Your Home

Welcoming a cleaning service into your home for the first time can come with questions—especially if you’ve never hired professional cleaners before. At Just Peachy Cleaning Co., we want to make the process smooth, transparent, and totally stress-free.


We’re often asked, “What do I need to do before you arrive?” or “Do I need to be home?” or even “Will you bring your own supplies?” This blog post is here to clear up exactly what you can expect when our team walks through your door.


Whether it’s your first clean or you’re a recurring client, here’s everything you need to know.



Before We Arrive: How to Prepare


You don’t need to do a deep clean before we come (that’s what we’re here for!), but there are a few small things you can do to help us work efficiently and give you the best possible results.


✅ Tidy Personal Belongings

We ask that you pick up personal items such as toys, clothes, dishes, and other miscellaneous clutter. This allows us to focus on cleaning instead of tidying, and ensures we don’t misplace anything important.

*If tidying is something you need, we can definitely help you! We just need to know when booking so we have enough time


💡 Think of it like this: we’re not judging your mess—we just want to get to the surfaces that need cleaning!

✅ Secure Pets

We love pets and you know your pet better than anyone. If you feel that your pet will bound towards the entry to escape the second they see us crack the door, it is suggested that you secure your pets.


💡 While we will do everything we can to make sure this doesn't happen, if it does, we will not be held liable for the pet escaping. We don't ever want to have to make that phone call.

✅ Make Your Home Accessible

Please make sure your entry is clear and we can get in! If you won’t be home, we’ll need to know ahead of time how to access your space. Whether you provide a door code, give us or hide a key, or leave a lockbox, we’ll keep all information secure and confidential. Also make sure any debris or snow isn't hindering us coming in. We can't carry in a load of equipment when we're climbing through snow up to our knees (Canada eh!).

✅ Turn on your AC / Turn down your heat

Depending on the season, house cleaners always get too hot or too cold. When you're doing physical work, the temperature that's normal inside a home will feel 5 degrees hotter than it actually is. That means if your AC is off and it's 25c in your home, it's going to feel like 30c to your cleaner. We kindly ask that you turn on your AC (in the summer) and turn down your heat slightly (in the winter) at least one hour before your cleaner arrives to allow for an adjustment period.



When We Arrive: What Happens During the Clean


Our technicians typically arrive within a designated window and always in uniform, ready to get to work. Here’s what you can expect from the moment we walk in.


👋 A Friendly, Professional Greeting

If you're home, we’ll say a friendly hello and walk through the space with you (if you'd like) to confirm details or note any areas of focus. Instructions or preferences given to us ahead of time will already be in our system as notes.


💡 While we try to accommodate requests that we receive when we arrive at your home, sometimes those asks can take time. Therefore we ask that you inform the office ahead of time so we can make arrangements to meet your needs properly.

🧽 Supplies & Equipment

We bring all our own products and tools—including vacuums, microfiber cloths, eco-friendly sprays, scrubbers, and more. You don’t need to supply a thing (unless you request we use something of yours).


💡 Have specific products you love? Just let us know in advance Requests for different cleaners must come through the office so we can make sure our cleaner has the proper equipment and is adequately trained. We try our best to stay away from heavy chemicals and solutions. Management has final say as to whether we will be using a provided product.

Our cleaning pros work methodically and efficiently. Whether it's a standard maintenance clean or a deep cleaning, we follow a detailed checklist to make sure no corner is left untouched. Each technician is trained to clean to a high standard while respecting your space and privacy.



What We Clean (and What We Don’t)


While every service is tailored to your needs, here's a general breakdown of what you can expect from a standard clean:


✅ What’s Included:

  • Kitchens: Wipe countertops, clean sinks, stovetops, cabinet exteriors, appliance exteriors, microwave interiors, dust baseboards, floors

  • Bathrooms: Scrub tubs, showers, toilets, and sinks; wipe mirrors, countertops and baseboards; clean floors

  • Bedrooms & Living Areas: Dust furniture, baseboards, window sills; quick tidy surfaces; vacuum carpets; clean floors

  • General: Empty trash, remove cobwebs, sanitize high-touch areas


If you’ve booked a deep clean, we go further—baseboard scrubbing, hand-wiping doors and trim, more detailed attention to tough-to-reach places.



❌ What’s Not Included:

We want to be upfront about what we don’t cover. We do not:

  • Clean up biohazards (including mold or pet waste)

  • Wash dishes or do laundry (unless previously arranged)

  • Move heavy furniture

  • Clean exterior windows

  • Organize belongings (unless previously arranged)

  • Wet wipe tv screens

Do I Need to Be Home?


This is entirely up to you! Some clients prefer to be home, while many trust us to clean while they’re at work, running errands, or out enjoying their day.


If you will be home for your clean, we will do our best to work with you to get everything cleaned quickly and efficiently without us being in your way (and you not being in ours). We ask that you give us flexibility for this as the more we have to move you, the longer the clean is going to take.


If you'll be home but leaving after your cleaner arrives, be sure to provide us with clear instructions on how to lock up your home when we leave.


We always prefer that entry and exit details be discussed prior to your first clean so your cleaner/management isn't surprised and we don't make costly mistakes.


We take your privacy and security seriously and treat your home with the same care we would our own.



After We Leave: What to Expect


You’ll come home to a sparkling clean space—and hopefully a sense of relief and calm. Here’s what happens next:


✨ Final Touches

We do a final walkthrough before leaving to make sure everything meets our standards. If we moved anything (like light furniture), we’ll return it to its place.

✅ Checklists & Notes

We make sure our checklists are filled out and any notes about your clean are attached to your appointment so management has them documented.

💬 Feedback Welcome

We’re always looking to improve. If you have any feedback (good or bad!), we want to hear it. We’ll reach out occasionally to make sure you’re happy, but you can always email or call us with any concerns or compliments.



FAQ's


While we have a dedicated page for FAQ's (click here to view), here are a few questions we always get asked.


Q: What happens if I need to cancel or reschedule?

We understand life happens! We just ask that you give us at least 24 hours’ notice to avoid a late cancellation fee.

Q: What if something gets damaged?

While we handle your belongings with care, we’re insured in the rare event something is broken or damaged. Your cleaner will take a picture of the broken item and send it to management who will direct the cleaner to the next steps. We will either leave the item and call/text/email to let you know about the incident or call you immediately in the case of a serious issue.

Q: Can I request the same technician each time?

Absolutely. We can’t guarantee it 100% of the time (due to vacations or illness), but we do our best to find you a fantastic cleaner who's a good fit for your home / family and our main goal is to make sure that is your cleaner.
